When I bought the combo, I had in mind to buy the extension cab when I needed more volume. Well, now I need more volume. Will the extension cab be noticeably louder?

Any feedback on the SC-112 extension cab is much appreciated.

TIA!

John

P.S. I really like the sound of the Fender Special Design 10" speaker in the combo and not interested in replacing it at this time. I am open to replacing the Celestion in the SC-112, however. I've been looking and the GWS-12C interests me a lot.

A 15 watts amp with ext cab will never be a 30 watts. Best is to sell your amp and buy the amp you need.

Some answer with Google ;

More speaker = more Dbs

Obviously, a 12" speaker moves more air than a 10" speaker, and Celestions are known for being loud. So, if you don't have experience with the combo and the SC-112, then assuming I'm looking for the output of a 30 watt amp is very wrong and not helpful.

There are millions of Fender owners, but only a tiny fraction of them participate in the forums Fender provides here. Best not to give rude answers if you care about these forums.

I'm sorry if my answer seem rude to you, my intention was to simply answer your question as best as possible.

No mistake. This amp is perfect for my purposes: practice, recording, AND stage.

FYI, I only need it to be loud enough to be my stage monitor. I'm mic'ing it for the audience. And, if need be, I'll run the sound through a small personal PA on stage behind me.

If I don't like how the SC-112 sounds, it may end up being a $200 amp stand. lol
