What settings would I use on ch2 to get that clear, blackface sparkle I get on ch1? What model, cabinet, and gain settings would truly duplicate that sound? Based on what I've read, the signal path is identical, so why can't I copy it. I tried multiple models, different cabs on each, and a range of middle values. I can get close with the PR and Bassman models, but they don't have that crisp clean tone of ch1. Am I missing something?

For the price these X2's are selling for used, $200-250, it's a great amp. I tried a few speakers in my combo (stock, Ragin Cajun, and Jensen C10Q), and have settled on an Eminence Legend 1058. I'm not a fan of speaker breakup, and the 1058 adds some low end and clarity, without the "farty" Fender sound at higher volume settings. I'm sure there are even better sounding speakers. but I wanted to try reasonably priced speakers. I have a real 68 PR, with the original Oxford, so I have a basis of comparison. I'm sure it sounds even better with the 12" cab, but I like the combo's portability.

IMHO ch1 sound is somewhere between the Princeton or the Deluxe on ch2 depending of your middle settings on both channels.
middle on 5 ch1 is closer of the Princeton middle on 5 too than the Deluxe middle on 5
middle on 8 ch1 is closer of Deluxe middle on 8 than the Princeton middle on 8
All this with the stock speaker. This speaker is more neutral than your Eminence and so don't color the simulation .
