My wife is about to go to Florida for a week, leaving me here in the Sonoran Desert to crack up and dry, so I told her however much you spend on this trip I am spending also. So I am thinking Fender Super Champ X2, Eminence Lil Buddy 10" hemp cone speaker and foot switch. 3 wires, one from guitar to amp, one from foot switch to amp and one from amp to AC. Light weight grab and go amp. Easy set up. I had that same set up a year ago and I am sorry I sold it.

As of now if I wanna go out and jam with the gear I have, I need a head and cab, pedal board, and guitar, that is 2 heavily laden trips in-out.

The SCX2 is a guitar in one hand, amp in other, both lightweight.....

$474 at Sweetwater, no shipping no tax......

DBM, there's a 12 step program for people like you. I had a strong feeling you'd buy another one. Just go do it. The wife will be fine with it. And maybe pay extra for faster shipping

I am overly happy with the tone of my two amps but both require heavy lifting, a pedal board, & a myriad of wires. If I go out jamming with friends or on road trips to family, I need something grab and go. The SCX2 is an all in one option with foot switch. Guitar in one hand X2 in the other. Simple in-out and setup....

My SCX2 FSR with the Celestion G10 speaker just came yesterday. The wine red is retro looking. The tone is fantastic. Spent three hours on it last night hearing things I never heard from any other amp I've owned. Now I have the perfect practice amp in the GDec3 Thrity, and the perfect gigging amp (small clubs) in the SCX2.

Since this thread was the last time you posted in the Super-Champ X2 Forum (July 15, 2016), am I safe to assume you did not ever get another SCX2? And if so; what are you "lugging" around these days?

I never did get another SCX2, for my small amp I use an Egnater Tweaker 15 watt head with a 1-12 cabinet, and I would also need my pedal board so 2 trips in-out if I ever do go out. Right now I just practice daily at home so no lugging is necessary. If I was to play out it would be my Hot Rod Deluxe anyways. The SCX2 was sure a nice option, amp/wires and pedal in one hand, guitar in the other, one trip in-out, all the sounds I needed. Someday perhaps.

I DO like the Hot Rod Deluxe as well...the Blues Deluxe even better (though I've never owned either I have friends that do, and have the pleasure of playing through them from time to time).
I had a Hot Rod DeVille, and it was just WAY too much amp for me (casters and all)...too powerful, and to heavy, and without pedals not many options---so I sold that one, and bought a Blues Junior (1999 model before the BJ III came out) with a Celestion Greenback in it, and I absolutely love that one (but no 'Stand-By' switch; why Fender...why?). Still not a lot of options without pedals, but man does that baby sing!
I pretty much got this SCX2 because it is 15 watts of tube power (like the Blues Junior), and because of the myriad of options the thing has. Plus I love the looks of it, and I'm finding that I prefer to have my controls on the face of the amp, so I can have the speaker at body mass level, and not stretch and struggle to peek at the controls.

There's a lot of chatter about people switching the speaker out (combo and cabinet), and though I understand everyone has their own taste, I can't yet figure that one out...mine's not even broke in yet, but I am definitely digging the sounds coming from this Celestion G12P-80, so I have no intention of doing anything with it other than enjoying.

I have an Eminence Cannabis Rex in my HRD, I also have two EVM 12 L's each in one twelve cabinets which sound similar to the C-Rex with the HRD playing through both. Big room HRD through both extension cabs. Smaller room HRD through the C-Rex. Tiny room, Tweaker head through one of the EVM 12L's. The Tweaker is worlds louder than my SCX2 was, although I never BIASED the power tubes on the X2, which I do on the HRD. However volume is not the only thing the ease of transport is also important. The Tweaker head is almost as nice tone wise as the HRD is, it needs a tube change.
