Hi to everybody. I need your help.

When I was younger I had an encore stratocaster:

3 single coil pick-ups
3 way switch
1 volume pot
2 tone pots

Now I've changed the pick-up of the bridge and the pick-up of the neck with 2 humbuckers: a Dimarzio at the neck and a Epiphone at the bridge.
So... now the questions. The volume and tone pots are 250k. I think that it would be better change them with pots of 500k. Am I right?

Another question (please look at this picture: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/43941755/Bridge ... agram.jpeg). The capacitor on this wiring diagram (I think it's the wiring diagram of a Fender strato) is a .02 microfarad. I have a capacitor of .04 microfarad. Why? Do I need to change it if I'll install the 500k pots?

Thank you for your help and, please, if you don't understand something write to me and I'll answer as soon as possible.
Stefano

A 0.05 MFD capacitor is for old style tone, before 1983 . 0.022 is a modern tone capacitor. This capacitor is on every American Standard since 1983. I try both and I keep the 0.022.

Pots ; yes , 500 k is a better choice. higher is the value , more high frequency you'll have . Humbucker PU have less high than single coil .
That's why we use 250 K for single coil and 500 K for Humbucker.

I hope this help you
