It was the ONLY guitar I ever got for Christmas.
I have some gear under the tree right now...but nothing is gonna beat this axe as far as Christmas goes.
Have plenty of guitars, American, Mexican, Indonesia, etc... and this one is my "go-to". Love it!

My wife got me the Adam Clayton signature Jazz bass this year for Christmas. A tad early, but it's pretty awsome!

The best Fender gift for me is the brand new Telecaster that I will be getting after the holidays. I just haven't decided which model yet. :D :D :D

The CJ-290SCE-12 I just received this morning!

The action and intonation out of the box is perfect. It sounds wonderful!

I've never owned a 12-string, but have only occasionally played friend's - and I've never liked one as much as I do this guitar. Even compared to a friend's late 70s Gibson SJ-200 ( of course I don't think he ever changed the strings since he bought it - shame!)

Playing a 12-string with a tuner is very different - having all the strings exactly in tune means less 'jangle' and a more 'harpsichord' type sound. It's really nice!

Kudos to Fender's QA people!

BTW - Do they all come with an extra bridge saddle in the box or was that just a fluke?

Congrats!

Just keep in mind that all Fender (and most manufacturers, for that matter) 12-strings don't have separate intonation for the strings in a pair, so the strings invariably will go out of tune with respect to each other as you proceed up the fretboard.

A good 12-string player will use that to his advantage - especially when amplified. You can get some pretty wild "standing waves" effects by going just high enough up the fretboard for that particular guitar.

i love 12-strings. Despite they making mincemeat out of my fingers if I play them too much. The light G-string is as punishing as it is on a lady.
Bowie did some wonderful stuff with his 12-strings, showing that they're more than capable of lead too.

I didn't get any 12-string stuff from Santa this yule[*], but i bought myself a sound hole mute for my 12-string. Now i need to Dremel it a bit to get it to fit, but that's okay - gives me something to do :)

[*]: But the coke should keep me warm until spring.

My only Christmas Fender gift ever was my 1986 MIJ Stratocaster, my very first Strat. I now call it The Venerable Black No. 1. The plastic on the pickups and knobs has yellowed even more since this pic was taken, but the pickguard has stayed remarkably white. I only play it occasionally because I have so many others now and it suffers from fret wear being my only guitar for so many years.

It was given to me by my wife of 18 years who is now my ex of 20+ years. Haven't seen her in about ten years and that's like getting another present from her.

Steve, love the yellowing on the knobs and pickup covers of The Venerable Black No. 1.
