Hello, i'm the happy owner of a Jazz bass plus 92, maple.
I want to change the pickups, (even if they are good ones), fender lace sensor for emg J picikups, i've tryed but there was no sound...is that because the emgs are active? How can i put those pickups (with one more 9v batt.?) and what would be the notice for the connecting...?
There's a Kubicki preamp with a 9v battery, can i keep it withe the emgs or do i must change all the electronic?
Thanks for your help!

Welcome.

EMG J pickups are active. They require a completely different set of electronic components other than what you have in your bass now including a 9V minimum power source. For more information, go to the EMG website: http://www.emgpickups.com/

Salut Albaz (alexx).
