Can anyone recommend some good acoustic settings? Are there any online "presets" that work well?

Recently purchased a Taylor 114CE and LOVE the way this guitar sounds...a real "price/performer." Wondering how I could get a pure acoustic sound out of my Mustang amp.

It depends on which amp you have. I've seen posts suggesting the basic studio preamp preset. It works well for me. You can add some reverb and effects if you like. My amp is a Mustang III v2.

I know your "Fuse Software Library" has lots of options. In my experience I played a Takamine 12 string w/t an internal bridge pickup on a Fender Concert II. I found the best sound came from the pure amp with no reverb. I have experimented with noise gate and compression trying to contain ambient sound and finger noise etc., Using Finger Ease (although questionable) did reduce the finger noise. Wish I had that cool amp to play with ! I have a Digitech 360xp, that works well for the price, but I hear its nothing compared to the Fuse stuff.
P.S. I also found some interesting info regarding most effects and their uses here http://www.gmarts.org/index.php?go=221

I've not used an Acoustic Electric with my Mustangs. Nonetheless, try the clean low gain Basic Preamp Preset at default Memory Slot: 83 (presuming you have a Mustang v2. III, IV or V). Not sure if the MI and MII offer a Basic Preamp Preset.

Some of the (relatively) cleaner Fender modeled amps in your Mustang may sound okay with your AE. You are likely to find the other amps modeled in your Mustang, particularly, the higher gain British and American Amps, as well as the Fender Super-sonic and Bassman are likely too juiced for a clean acoustic sound (if that is what you're after). Try reducing their Amp Menu Gain and Drive levels, and try different Cabinet Simulations to see what, if any, you may like.

Thank you, everyone, for your replies.

I have the original Mustang I.

While I have NO idea what setting "83" is, I will try some other recommendations, especially eliminating the gain.

Just thought there may be an on-line pre-set that I could import into my amp.

If you get on FUSE, look up the Arctic Monkeys setting... its very clean and actually makes a Les Paul sound like an acoustic

Then you don't have the Pre-Amp model, that came with v2.

The bigger Mustangs (MIII and up) have 100 presets and #83 is one of them. On the v2 product line, that's a preset with the Pre-Amp model.

A Fender Twin model should be quite clean as well.

I'd go along with the previous comment. For acoustic I used to use the pre-amp model along with a slight compressor. Failling that I've also used the Twin model with either no gain or slight gain. These all tend to work better if you have a sound hole cover to combat feedback.

I don't really use the acoustic on stage anymore and have replaced it with a Gretsch hollow body G5420T. Not exactly the same as an acoustic, but it works pretty well both on strumming as well as finger picking.

Thanks to ALL for your advice and comments. I've been experimenting with the Twin, Deluxe and Bassman. One of the configurations that works (for me, at least) is turning EVERYTHING down to zero and simply turning up the volume and ONLY the volume!

But...thanks again for all the help! I'll continue to try everyone's suggestions!

I trie d the pre-amp setting today. it sounded great, and I didn't get much feedback. when I try other settings I get all kinds of feedback

next day off I will be getting a soundhole plug, and then I will try the other settings again.
