Well kids, I decided to take a risk. A calculated one but a small risk nonetheless.

From having owned a couple of old routers and DSL modems, I noticed that most, if not all of them use 12 volt 2 amp switching power supplies. 1 ampmore powerful than the one Fender supplies for the Mustang Floor. No matter, the Floor will only take as much amperage as it needs (600ma). After soldering the right size barrel connector onto one of the AC adapters I have, I now have a spare adapter for my Mustang Floor! Woohoo!

Are you looking for a DC plug or a power supply ?

About Power supply ; most of them are not voltage regulated . If you Floor need 600 ma ( how many volts ? 12 ??? ) and you use a unregulated power supply with 2 amps your may send more than 12 volts to your floor and may dommage it .

Haven't seen one of those for ten years at least.

Many or most of them are not .
Are you qualified to know how to check them ?

Pretty much all the power supplies I have are switching-mode and voltage regulated. I have a REALLY old router around somewhere that still has a linear one, but even that is voltage regulated (I know because I opened it up once to replace a blown fuse).

No, we don't. I was just responding to your general statement that most were not.

EU legislation made switching mode supplies pretty much mandatory because power supplies may only draw 0.5 watts in standby, which is hard to achieve with linear / transformer types. But YMMV, of course.

I measured the output voltage of both the Fender PS and the old router PS... Of course!! Their outputs were within .02 volts of each other. 12.42 volts for the Fender and 12.40 for the old router's. You'd have to be crazy not to measure the actual output voltage. Incidentally, they are both switch-mode power supplies.

Well, I gigged with the M-Floor last night using the old router's modified P/S...
No problems. It worked just like the original.
:D :D
