There was also a "Fizz" problem that afflicted some of the Mustang v1 products! Not sure if the Mustang I (v1) models were affected.

None of the Mustang v2 models have been reported to have this problem.

Others here may have more information.

The notorious fizz was isolated to the MIIIs and not all of them wound up with the problem.

I have 2 v1s Stangs (a III and a IV) my III does not do the "Fizz"

Thanks, Guys.
Just got the most disappointing response from Fender TSL about the Floor. It's FX loop is fixed between the amp sim and cab sim. So basically I'll have no choice but to put my looper's output either into the aux in or after the 1/4" output which would then necessitate yet another DI... really short sighted on Fender's part. So disappointing that all companies it seems can't seem to manage to really think things through better.

And you can update custom presets to use the newer amp and effects, right? The reason I'm asking is because it's pretty easy to fine a MI v1 for $50 and I could use a little cheap travel amp. Thanks for insight!

you can, but the presets can only support what the amp has. so you don't get the "new stuff" in the presets that are part of V2

ok... didn't quite get it. checked out the differences and it turns out that there are stomp boxes in the v2 that I use and would miss. bummer!

Some of the reply's to this question seem a little confusing to me so I thought I would try and add clarity...
I own a Mustang I v1, and a III v2 so I am very familiar with the differences.

1st to be clear there is no way to update a v1 to a v2. There are about 5 new stomp boxes and 5 new amps on the v2 along with some other improvements that will never be available on a v1. You can check out the new stuff on a v2 on the Fender website.

I think you have the right answer. I gig with my MIII (play in about 3 bands, cover, Americana/blues and jazz) I would really miss the extra stomp boxes that the v2 offers. The v1 seems very limited to me now and I rarely use my MI. I use the orange box and big fuzz a lot, and to a lesser amount the ranger and blackbox. I also use some of the new amps like the elchepo Thift simulation. Also a little talked about improvement in the v2 is they put the Wah in both to stomp and modulation positions, so you can have wah with stomp or wah with modulation. In the v1's the wah was only in the stomp so you could never have wah with a stomp.

Also if you download a preset from FUSE to a v1 and it has v2 features the v1 will just delete what it doesn't have. So if the downloaded preset has an orangebox stomp, the v1 will just let you know it has been deleted and you won't get that effect.

The MIII is a sweet amp for the $$. I just started playing with a tube guy and he continues to comment on the tone I get (w/ an American special Strat). I have never turned the thing past 5 for volume and regularly play a theater type venue with 200+ folks, amp unmiked. I have spent a lot a time learning how to tweek it, but now I am getting the hang of it and dial in pretty quickly.

So I would say spend a few extra $$ and get a v2.
