Hello everyone,
Recently i bought second hand Mustang Floor.
First thing i did was firmware update to 1.4.,took me few times to calibrate expression pedal, finally i managed and was working fine.
However after two weeks unit started going a bit crazy, like changing patches by itself. So while i was playing on preset 01 suddenly without any reason change for preset 04.That happened 4 times within 3 days.
I decided to do backup and reset to factory settings.
So far looks promising except i can not calibrate expression pedal, works only as a switch,no volume control or parameter control are working.
Second issue is send -return loop,i like my overdrive pedals so i want to use them, unfortunately loop is very noisy(i have decent Boss power supply),i used that solution before with Boss GT10 without any interference.
With Floor Mustang i had to unplug them and put everything in front of input and all noise has gone.
Third thing is usb connection, while using with FUSE software i experience some noise, cracks etc.
My main audio interface is M-Audio Fast Track C400.After disconnecting usb cable from Mustang all noise is gone.
Summing up:
1.Can not calibrate expression pedal, only works as a switch on/off.
2.Noisy send-return loop
3.Noisy usb connection

Any ideas?
Is a software/firmware related problem or hardware issue?

Dear Peterz,

Thanks for your inquiry. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your floor, please find listed below Enhancements/Fixes include but are limited to the 1.4 Firmware update.

- Fixed an issue where MIDI program change messages were not being sent every time the preset changed, regardless of whether the change was initiated from the Mustang™ Floor buttons, the MS-4 buttons, Fender® Fuse™, or the MIDI input
- Fixed a bug where MIDI control change messages being transmitted were backwards (heel and toe were reversed on the Volume/Expression pedal)
- Fixed a bug where the MIDI "off" option for the pedal and switch TX control change numbers were being ignored
- Fixed a bug where the MIDI Receive/Transmit channels were not being set immediately after changes (Utility mode)
- Fixed a bug where selecting a MIDI Channel of "10" was incorrectly being displayed as ":" (Utility mode)
- Fixed a problem which could cause the Mustang Floor to lock up when Simple Comp or 'None' effects are used, and their effect category has already been configured for pedal control (Pedal mode)
- Fixed a bug where bypassing amp models disabled both the Mute and Volume pedal functionality
- Fixed a bug where noise gate was not bypassed with bypassed amp models

As for the calibration issue I'm also providing you with additional information of calibration steps.

Note that a Factory Restore will require that the built-in pedal and the Expression pedal (EXP-1) if used will need to be re-calibrated. Please see the instructions below to recalibrate your EXP-1 pedal. If an external EXP-1 pedal is connected at the time of calibration, both pedals will need to be calibrated at that time.

The EXP-1 expression pedal calibration procedure is as follows:

1. Press and hold UTILITY while powering on, UTILITY LED should light up for 1 second.
2. Move the expression pedal between the desired heel and toe endpoints to set the range.
3. Turn the encoder knob to the next Preset to complete the process.

As for the noise you mentioned I would suggest trying different cables and if the noise continues you may want to have a Fender® Authorized Service Center look at it for you. Please contact us directly at TSL@fender.com if you need ASC information. I hope this helps and please let us know if you need additional information.

Thank You for a quick reply.
As for pedal calibration,i tried these steps about 5 times, does not work.
Is there any ASC in UK?
I am affraid my gear is not covered in warranty anymore so that might be quiet expensive to send it to USA or Canada...
