I read the manual on the expression pedal but it's not all that clear in some ways. In the setting where you check "from preset" or "from pedal", am i right to assume if i use "from pedal" that no matter what preset i go to even tho i never configured any pedal action on that preset, it will default to whatever config i did to it last regardless of what preset? In other words, if i go to preset 01 and i configure it to act as a volume with the expression function set to off, after that every preset i go to the pedal will act the same as it does on 01 even tho 01 was the only one i configured?

And if i set it to "from preset" and set 01 to what i described earlier, will it do nothing on other presets that i have not configured the pedal with?

Also, do i have to hit save after configuring it in a preset in either mode? I ask that because i could swear it didn't require saving when i experimented with it a bit last nite.

Hello ozcad,

Thank you for your inquiry. When selecting "from preset" means the EXP-1 will go to whatever setting you have saved on the next preset. So if you have it as a wah on one preset and go to the next preset that has a delay set to the expression, but the preset was saved with the EXP-1 as volume, the pedal will default to volume on that next preset.
If you select "from pedal", using the same scenario as earlier, the pedal would stay active when you switch presets and it would effect the delay. If you switch to a preset that has the pedal associated with no effects the preset would still have no effects associated with it.
So basically it all depends on how you set it up. You can have the EXP-1 stay active through preset changes with "from pedal" or have it default to however you saved the preset with "from preset". It will not automatically assign the expression to an effect, it has to be set in the preset. You do need to save it on each preset after setting it up. I hope this is information is useful

Thanks. I'll have to re-read that slowly, as my tiny brain goes into glitch mode when trying to retain many things quickly. But that will help, thanks.
