So when you press the pedal down to click the switch it toggles the pedal back and fourth from volume mode to "expression" mode. Can i set it so in expression mode it does nothing? I ask because i want to use it as volume only and want to be able to click it and to essentially be off. (please don't ask why, i have my reasons but it would take a long post to explain it)

What Model and Version Mustang amp(s) are you using with the EXP-1 pedal? From what I understand, the v2 versions (running the latest firmware) allow EXP-1 pedal configuration directly from the amp (w/o requiring the use of FUSE). I have an EXP-1 on order and am interested in how you choose to configure yours.

See this:
http://www2.fender.com/en-CA/support/ar ... 1432823366

Then download and read particularly pages 12 and 13 of the second PDF (full Fuse manual).

To fully use these settings you need to download and install Fuse, which is suggested. This will give you many features and options. Make sure to check for any updated program version.

You can download it here.
https://fuse.fender.com

You will also need to install Microsoft Silverlight.
Download here:
http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/

Then you need to make a USB connection with your computer and amp. Once it is synced you should be good to go following the instructions.

I hope I didn't give you more info than you need, but maybe now you have enough to complete your adjustments.

Good Luck.

Note: MusicLaw may be right in his assumptions, but since I have Mustang IV Version 1, the amp does more of a calibration and less tweaking.

I know you both will enjoy the well built pedal as I have.

Yeah, i have all that and i've read the manual but it's confusing reading thru it all and trying to get one simple answer. Can anyone answer this? I simply want the pedal's switch to toggle between volume function and NO function of any kind. Whether that involve assigning the expression function to something i don't use like pictch shifting or whtever, i just want the non volume side of the switch to have no effect of any kind on my patches just as tho theres no pedal there at all. Ann note that i do NOT yet have one. My amp is a MIII V2

Hello oczad,

Yes, you can set the EXP-1 to be volume and when you click to the expression have it set to no effect. It has a drop down selection for "off" inside the Fender® FUSE™ software.

Yes you can edit it directly on the amp (v2) by holding the data wheel down while the pedal is connected to the amp.

Thanks, Daniel B. for your reply confirming that it can be done on the amp w/o having to use Fuse.

I'm looking foward to getting the EXP-1 as soon as Guitar Center gets them back in stock.

Thanks, Daniel B for that. I thought this was the case; but, not having the amp and PC handy, my next step was to check it out when possible. Your clarification helped :D

Cheers!

Normally you push the data wheel to get to amp parameters. If with the pedal attached it goes to pedal parameters, how do you get to amp parameters? Are you saying that if you hold it down for a few seconds rather than a quick push it then enters pedal parameters and still goes to amp parameter when you push it quickly?

Hello oczad,

Yes, you are correct. You hold the data wheel down longer to get to the pedal parameters.

Have been using the EXP-1 for the past few months. It's very versatile. Just did Factory Resets on my Amps to get back to Defaults.

For the Pedal Calibration Procedure, the 4 Btn Fsw must be unplugged from the EXP-1 Pedal before attempting Pedal Calibration!
