I just bought the Zoom G1Xon multi-effect pedal and I'm running it through my Mustang 3. I'm wondering what preset or AMP model should I use on the Mustang so that the effects of the pedal aren't altered by the effects on the mustang amp. Hope that makes sense!

Your best bet is to select a simple base amp model without any effects and set as cleanly as possible. If it were me I'd probably select either the Twin Reverb or the Deluxe Reverb. The Twin would be where I would start because you can add a fair amount of gain and still have a clean signal. The Deluxe would provide a warmer tone but you'd have to be careful about how much gain you put on it or it would start breaking up. Probably almost any of the amp models would work as long as you kept it clean without any breakup and left all the DSP processing to the Zoom.

You can turn the amplifier and cab modeling off on the zoom, and just use the other effects however you like.

As was mentioned previously, the Fender Twin is pretty friendly toward the Zoom, if you DO want to use the amp modeling on the pedal. You can also set an "empty" preset on the Mustang, There are a few .FUSE presets you can use, such as: ttps://fuse.fender.com/mustang/presets/ ... 964-empty/

The only issue with the empty presets, is that since there isn't an amp being modeled on the Fender Mustang, you can't use any of the knobs save for master volume, so no tone control. You can use a graphic eq or parametric eq in the effects chain of the zoom to compensate for this.

I just use the Zoom for stuff like boost, compression, wah, and overdrive, and let the Mustang handle the rest.
