Happened 2 times in the last hour while I'm practicing:

Image

A little unnerving with a show coming up. :? This happened one other time right after I got the pedal.

An astute observer might notice that's not the Fender-supplied wire attaching my MS4 to the EXP-1. Maybe I'll try it with the 'official' way-too-long wire and see if this issue repeats. Oh and I see it's time to vacuum again.

yea that is a weird display mode huh!

I've seen this on my M-III once or twice (I've had it for 3 years now) cycle on/off and it went away.

I don't recall seeing it happen on my MIV..

Were you doing any editing, or changing any of the util settings for the foot switch, or anything like that?

But, if this is all of a sudden is happening frequently, I think I'd ask myself.. could this be related to the "Mustang Fall Down and Go Boom" thread?

and, I certainly would try the standard (provided) foot switch cable. Is that cable you are using Shielded? Cuz the stock foot switch cables are not.

keep us posted Strings!

yeah that's what I was thinking too, except that is has happened before. I don't even remember where I got this short cable. It's marked Musicmover (Pro co) 120S1 which appears to be bulk cable so maybe someone custom made this one? Here are the specs:

Cable Type Bulk single-conductor shielded wire
Gauge 20 Gauge made up of 41 strands of 36 gauge wire
Shielding 55% copper spiral shield

I've used many Mustang III amps over the past few years. They ALL did that every so often. My Mustang III v2 does it all the time. I can't play for an hour without it happening. Not good, especially during a gig.

Shielded cable is probably your problem. I believe it is an impedance issue.
