Dear jwyse,

Thanks for your information. I have forwarded it to the relating engineers and will update the forums with their feedback. Is the Amp you tested with a V1 or V2?
Thanks and please let us know if we can assist you further.

Regards,

Steven,

It would be great in the next firmware upgrade if they can add a function to adjust the XLR output level in individual patches so they are balanced, even though they are balanced at the speaker the XLR outputs can go from balanced to very hot depending on the amp and cab model you switch between.

My amp is a MIII V2

Odd that no one has reported this before.
I record jams via XLR and I have noticed that the level drops a lot sometimes - I just thought it was input levels getting changed in the heat of the moment.
With digital it can be recovered but with tape you'd be SOL.

Hello jwyse,

We tried to recreate the issue in the Fender Tech Support Lab but we were unable to recreate the exact issue. We recorded both signals from the XLR out and the Loop send out. Through both outputs we did see signal differences between presets. We also did notice that the XLR had a hotter output so we did reduce the XLR output in the global Utility settings, and we adjusted the input level to be similar to the Loop send in the recorder. Making both signals levels similar in the recorder we should be able to see if the jump between presets was different between outputs. We used presets that we tried to get fairly equal in volume when in front of the speaker but still when recorded we saw that through both outputs the signal level was different between the presets. We did not notice a definitive difference between the outputs. Both had jumps in the signal level that were similar.
So we have a few questions for clarification. First, what was your line output boost set at in the utilities? Second, if you try to match the signal inputs to be more similar in your recording software are you still seeing such a big difference in the “jump”?
We do thank you for your feedback and hope that this either helps you resolve the issue, or gives you more information to help us resolve it.
