Howdy Ken,

What's a V5 I?

Do you mean a Mustang V version 1?

There are probably as many answers to that question as there are guitarists playing blues and rock. Rather than duplicating a lot of information here (and unnecessarily spending time re-typing stuff that exists elsewhere), here are two suggestions:

- Lookup details of blues/rock guitarists whose style and sound you like. There's loads of info on the internet about the equipment, amps, settings, etc, that well-known musicians use. Some is official from the artist themselves, there is also a lot of credible third-party research. That will give you a lot of info on amps and their settings. Just dial-in those settings to your Mustang and tweak until it sounds right for you.

- Go to fuse.fender.com; login (or create an account); select your amp from the "Choose your Product" list; click "Download Presets"; in the Genres drop-down select "Blues" and click "Search." This will give you a whole heap of amp settings that other people use for Blues. Repeat for other genres, eg "Rock" and so on. Maybe sort the results by Rating or Popularity to see which ones are considered good by the most users.

+1. There's some really great content to download, that would be my first stop.

if he has a V1 amp, maybe not, cuz most of those presets (I can't find any that are otherwise) are labeled as V2

Not sure what you mean? There are over 7500 presets for the V1 Mustang amps.

Note that presets for the V1 amps will also work on the V2 amps. The FUSE library listings indicate this by including BOTH "Mustang" (see NB below) and "Mustang V2" in the compatibility column. Is that what you're referring to for "labelled as V2" or do you mean something else?

NB: Fender don't use "V1" in the Mustang name; what we call the "Mustang V1" is just the "Mustang" to Fender; only the "Mustang V2" has a version number in its name. So if you see any documentation or reference by Fender to just "Mustang" without a version number, they mean the Mustang V1.

I noticed that, all of the presets I uploaded are listed as Compatibility: Mustang™, Mustang™ (V.2), Passport® mini (they were all created on a v1 Mustang amp).

As scott-uk indicated, there are actually more v1 presets uploaded than v2. If I search all presets, I get 507 pages. If I click the checkbox for THIS DEVICE ONLY while logged in, I get still get 405 pages.

Any update from the OP? Have you managed to find some settings / presets that give the sound(s) you want?
