1. Mustang III v1.
2. August 2012. Purchased used with no warranty.
3. Developed the Fizz problem June 2015.
4. Fizz and Sitar sounds became unbearable. I opened amp and repaired myself. Power amp problems. Cold solder joints. Runs fine now.
5. Home Use.

Way to go, John! Glad you got it corrected! Care to post the cold solder joint locations and details in your other thread regarding the pblm? Other v1 owners might find it helpful.

Here is the link to my repair of the Mustang3 ver:1 power amp for the fizz Sitar noise it developed. viewtopic.php?f=27&t=99211

The cold solder joints were on the power resistors under the preamp section of the board R472 and R449. Plus other electrolytic caps on the board. Possibly a bad run that day due to solder temp or solder quality.

My M3v2 has been a reliable workhorse. Indoors and outdoors---still amazed with the consistency and projection. Just a wonderful speaker-cab-poweramp combination, with a great modeling front-end. I use it with an RP1000 and the 4CM---more possibilities than time left on Earth.
