So it's been a while since these amps have been on the market. Seems like they were released around September 2010?

How has your Mustang amp been holing up all these years? Please post the following:
1. Amp model and whether it is v1 or v2
2. Date of purchase (or at least year)
3. What has physically gone wrong with the amp since you've had it, and if it was fixed/how
4. Any manufacturer defects that had to be corrected
5. Current status of the amp, e.g. "I still use it live and at home" "I keep it as a backup but I don't play it anymore", etc.

1. Stang III V2
2. 2014
3. Nothing
4. None
5. Gigging Amp and Home Practice Amp

I have another very good Tube amp - which is gathering dust at the moment. When I gig I have good intentions of living the dream with the Tube Amp - but to be frank the Stang does the job time and time again. Its light weight, means I don't have to lug around a pedal board and sounds damn fine. You just have to treat her with a little respect and ignore the gear snobs before you fire her up...

1. Mustang 4 v1
2. May(-ish) 2012
3. No problems
4. No problems with amp itself; the EXP-1 I bought was faulty and replaced by Fender
5. My main amp, used daily; home use only (at the moment; worldwide stardom is of course just around the corner)

Curious as to the motivation for asking these questions?

I'm mostly interested in any hardware issues. When I got this amp, my only concern was that it felt a suspiciously light, and I was concerned about the durability of this amp when moving it around a lot. 3 years later, it's really 100% other than a few scratches from getting bumped. But I carry it around like it's made of glass.

I'm curious if anyone managed to break one of these, other than the headphone jack which has come up numerous times on the forum. Also, interested in the story of how any issues happened and how they were resolved (warranty repair?).

They've been out there for 5 years. That's how long the warranty is. I thought it was a good time to check in with everyone's ownership experience.

Thinking about this, the fact that the warranty is 5 years i would say it's likely they re built very well or fender might just go broke replacing them ! They are designated "not field repairable" meaning they don't supply thier warranty stations with parts and schematics for them, they just replace the amp. 5 years is a long time so i don't think it would be easy to build them to break soon after that mark. So i'd say they are likely tougher than they would seem and more than other fender ss amps with shorter warranties. besides, as cheap as they are you could buy a new one every 5 years and it would be as cheap as a good tube amp and all the tubes you need to replace over the course of many years of ownership. At the price i wouldn't even have a problem having to replace it ever 5-8 years. Probably always be a new improved version by then anyways that I'd want.

Our band has both a Mustang III v2 and a Mustang IV v2. Both were purchased in November of 2013 and we've had no problems at all with either of them. We move them at least twice weekly setting them up for band practice and for performance. Most of the time they're moved on a cart or transported via car or trailer. We don't toss them around, but we don't handle them like glass either.

Mustang IV -1st series February 2011
Used for gigging & band practice and home playing.

I have zero complaints with the cabinet construction as you can see in the picture. I have attached large wheels on the bottom and hitching rings on the side for safe transport.

I was one of the first owners to post video demos on YouTube of playing this amp at home and out in a live gig situation 8)
