My Peavey modeling amp does not like active pickups. The manual mentions it but of course didn't read the manual till I got it home and the guitars I tried it with at the store were passive.

I can work around it but was wondering if the Mustangs have the same issue.

I don't have any personal experience with this, but as I understand it based on posts here and on other forums, solid state amps tend to not respond very well to input signals that are too hot. Several people on this forum have mentioned that issue in relation to the Mustang. I don't have active pups, but I do use some hotter pups on my strat and I've never experienced any problem on my Mustang. I'm not sure what the ceiling is on the the input signals where problems begin to occur. The Mustang may have a greater tolerance than your Peavey but the only way to be sure would be to take your guitar in the store and try it out.

Good excuse to buy more gear I guess.

The Peavey does have some settings that work great with acoustic guitar. Maybe will have to get a Mustang and let the acoustics have the Peavey.

My MIII works well with my EMG DG-20 setup. That said, don't take my word for it... you should try it yourself in the store with your own guitar.

I've got 2 Charvel DS1's with SD blackouts. Sounds great through my mustang.

Not that I'm aware of, and I remember at least a few users mentioning they have active pickups.

Usually, the issue with active pickups is they can overload the input. So you could always try a volume pedal between you and the amp and lower the input volume that way.

I have a Desolation DC-1 ST w/EMG 81/85 setup and it sounds pretty great through my MIII! My Wildkat has P-90's and I wouldn't say I prefer one over the other, they both sound different, but don't think I have problems.

Here's the last song I recorded with the EMGs:

Lead and rhythm recorded straight from the lineout.

I have a Mustang IV and EMG 81/60 pickups. Amp seems to work fine for me. I don't hear any issues.
