Hi, I'm curious how everyone else chooses which reverb setting to use out of the 10 available.

Do you tend to use the same one all the time or choose depending on what kind of tone you're looking for? Or, is it more a case of trial and error? Do some of the settings work better for different styles of playing?

Short answer different for each amp and some with non at all instead going for a tape delay.

When I first got the Stang I had loads of preconceptions of how I would set this up - Reverb being one of them - Oh I will just use a Spring Reverb - WRONG.

Took me a while to settle with the Reverb but everyone on here was really helpful.

For gigs I am only using two different amps. Fender 65 Deluxe and British 80s (JCM 800). With the Fender I am using a spring verb - but very sparingly. On the British 80s a small amount of Small Hall - and I mean a small amount. Having said all that I have found no verb or the use of a bit of Tape delay to be extremely beneficial to the British amps as well.

On the Fender models I use the '65 spring reverb. It just seems to fit better (not surprisingly).

On the other models it depends. I tend towards large plates, but I think I have at least one preset for every reverb type there is.

I pretty much just use the '65 Twin Reverb amp with the '65 Twin reverb... but sometimes I use "small room" for a little ambiance... as stated above, a little of tape delay adds a nice tough that I like.

Here's a sample of my stuff: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRIwOfgK-pY

Great post/question ! That's what makes this amp so great is that it has so many options to please just about any ones taste! Personally, I like to go with the 63 reverb and tape delay on just about everything that I use... Of course the intensity of these effects varies greatly from song to song that I like to play.

I like using the 59 baseman model with these effects to get the early Scotty Moore sound on this tune.
