Hello all,

I've recently acquired a Vox AC30 CC2X and would like to use my Mustang Floor for stompbox effects as I don't own any pedals. Do you have suggestion for how to go about this?

I.e. How do I
1) Configure the Mustang Floor?
2) Where do I plug in/out on the Mustang Floor?
3) Where do I plug in/out on the Vox AC30?
4) Where do I plug guitar (i.e. into Vox or M-Floor)?

I´ve owned the Mustang Floor unit since this summer, but really haven´t used it much (mostly played using the factory pre-sets). The biggest use I´ve had for it so far is for the headphone jack - allowing me to play and not disturb the rest of the family :) .

Any thoughts/suggestions for using M-Floor with the Vox AC30 would be greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Advance thanks,
v281

My suggestions...
1) Use the Studio Preset so you don't get any amp coloration
2) Left or right output
3) Instrument input
4) M Floor

Depending what effects you're using on the Mustang Floor, and what sound you want to achieve, you can also put the M-Floor in the amp's fx-loop (if this amp has an fx-loop? I know the AC30C2 does, not sure about the CC2).

This may suit you better if you're using chorus, phaser, flanger, echo, delay effects, etc. But if you're using principally distortion, fuzz, wah, compressor, etc, then stick with putting the M-Floor in front of the amp.

Actually, if you're running your VOX pretty 'clean' and using the M-Floor for all overdrive-type effects, then you could still use chorus etc with the M-Floor in front of the amp.

Thanks scott-uk :-) I will definitely try this! Hooked the M-Floor up as mcarrollmust suggested last night and played with it a bit. Took awhile to figure out how to select the Studio Preamp and there was an excessive hum/buzz (not sure how to describe it). I tried googling info on this and found a discussion somewhere on one of the message boards out there about activating/engaging/turning on the noise gate - did this and that seemed to improve things, but there are so many settings to mess with and I didn't approach it scientifically (i.e. changing one variable at a time) so I have no idea what it was I did that helped improve things!

Looking forward to experimenting with the fx-loop hook-up

Cheers and thanks again,
