Is it just me, or my guitar, but the amp model Britisch Colour sounds really muffled and dark.
I can't get a clear and clean sound out of it, even with the trebble and middle at 10. The typical "blancket over the cab" kind of sound...

If I turn up the gain, it get's a bit brighter, but not by much.

Do you guys experience the same thing?

Try turning off cabinet emulation under advanced amp settings or choose a different cabinet. Cab emulation can cause a muffled sound. I mostly keep it off when using the Mustang's own cabinet to produce sound.

Same here. With a good amount of gain it's pretty nice. But back off the guitar to clean up and it's muffle city. Could be the real thing is like that and fender just tried to be true to it.

ok...I just tried this on my M3...I hadn't messed with the Brit Color amp emulation before...Starting with the factory Brit Color preset I turned off cab emulation and this got rid of most of the muffled sound. Then for my guitar, a stock 57 reissue strat, a of boost the mids and treble made it sound good and not muffled at all. Turned up the gain just a hair and Hells Bells (AC DC) sounded good.

No, the real thing, presuming Fender aims at an Orange tube amp, is not muffled at all.
My Rocker 30 has a combat-boot-to-the-face sound.

Well, sure, but when they made these patches you have to realize they are all modeled after the VINTAGE amp. The blackfaces are not modeled after blackface reissues. The marshalls are modeled after 800's and JMP's, not modern Marshall. Point is, the orange is modeled after a vintage amp, not the rocker 30 or other modern equivalents. It's not even the same company, it's a resurrected company with mostly new models made with today's players in mind. If the originals were muddy like that the new company is not going to make thier new models like that. Even if they do reissues chances are they'd tweak any mud like that out.

Take note of the lines around the knobs. This is no Rockerverb or Thunderverb.

This is apparently an older version of the OR-120, but I can't be completely sure. Might be a Custom Shop model. In any case, it IS old.

I use this "amp" as my main setting, different patches for lead and rhythm settings on my M3 i dont find it muddy with any of my humbucker guitars. :D
I Love It.
