I am now seriously considering getting a Mustang II which is within my price range. My questions concerning it are , at 40 watts it should be good enough for use with a band right ? Secondly, does it have a line out on it so that I can connect it to our PA or will I have to put a mike directly in front of it ? Thanks.

Depends on how loud your drummer is.

The II does not have a line out. You can only (ab)use the phones jack for a line-out, but that will mute the speaker.

I'd go for the III, if you can afford it. More power, sounds better, better usability, real XLR line out. Maybe look for a used one? I got mine in mint condition for the price of a new II on ebay.

+1 to last reply. Just make the jump to the III,

you push 40 watts and it's going to loose a lot of character. Where as the 100 watts in the III with a better speaker, and the other add-on features is definitely the way to go
