I am fairly new to amplifiers and pedals.
I am trying to make a connection as follows: Guitar -> Mustang Floor -> Princeton 112plus amp -> Church Sound System.

I connected the Guitar to the Input of the Mustang Floor, the Mustang Floor L Unbalanced Out to the Input of the Princeton 122plus Amp and the Amp's PreAmp Out to Church Sound System.

The problem is that there is hiss/noise in the speakers of the sound system. Didn't have that problem before using the Mustang Floor. I am assuming that the is something done wrong in the setup. Could someone here please tell me how to set it up correctly or what I need to change in the setup?

Thanks.

Your basic connectivity seems correct. If you think the Mustang Floor is introducing hiss, try using different amp models on the M-Floor, including no amp model at all. The Mustang models/mimics real amps as accurately as possible, and this includes (perhaps unfortunately) reproducing any inherent hiss/noise that is present in the real amps - especially if you're using anything with significant gain. So see if the hiss changes/disappears when you change amp model (this also applies to changing settings on other effects, again particularly effects that add a boost/gain).

I'd also look at all other cabling; it could be that the M-Floor is just accentuating hiss already present in the signal, rather than introducing hiss itself. If you unplug the guitar from the M-Floor (while leaving everything else connected and the volume turned up), does the hiss then reduce/disappear? If so that points to the noise being introduced by the guitar pickups or cable. Then make sure the cable between your M-Floor and Princeton is as short as possible, is well shielded, laid out straight (not coiled up), and is nowhere near any other cables of any type (especially mains cables, computer/data cables, other audio cables, etc). The same for the cables from your Princeton to the sound system.

Another thought is: if you want to use the M-Floor, why bother with the Princeton at all? You could take the output from the M-Floor direct into your sound system. If you want a Princeton-like sound, just use the Princeton amp model on the M-Floor (in addition to any other effects). A simpler rig is not only more convenient but the fewer parts in the chain, the less noise there will be overall.

If on the other hand you mean 'hum' rather than 'hiss' then you should look for ground loops. What these are and ways to deal with them are copiously documented elsewhere in this forum so I won't repeat. Starting points are: trying the 'ground lift' button on your M-Floor; connecting all components to the same mains outlet (or trying different outlets if they're already on the same one); trying higher-quality mains transformers for any equipment that has those (particularly if you're using any cheap unbranded 'wall-wart' adapters rather than the manufacturer's original part); try batteries rather than mains power (for equipment that can use batteries).

scott_uk, thank you very much for the great suggestions and info you provided.

The Princeton was used as monitor anyway, so we now connected the M-Floor directly to the PA. Then we splitt the connection from the M-Floor output to still use the Princenton as monitor. The hiss/noise was gone from the sound system but the amp still had it.

We changed the connection (from the split) from the M-Floor to use the "Power Amp In" on the amp instead of the "Input". That did the trick.

So in the end we had M-Floor->PA and M-Floor->Amp (Power Amp In), using the amp only as a monitor.

Thanks again!
