I bought the Mustang floor in Oct 2013 and have been using it to gig with my band 2-3 time a month ever since. I run it direct to the PA, no amp and it sounds great. Last night I went up to start the second set, tried to switch presets with the preset footswitches and none of them worked. I can still switch presets with the knob and that got me through the night but I need to get this thing fixed and back to the way it should work. I will call Fender warranty Monday but was hoping to hear from others. Any ideas? Thanks!

There have been a small number of previous topics in this forum, from Mustang Floor owners with similar problems - some or all of the footswitches suddenly stop working. This seems to be a rare problem, but not completely unheard of.

From memory, I don't think any of those previous people found quick DIY fixes. So yes, contacting Fender for a warranty repair sounds the best thing to do.

Yes Alan it was me! Thanks for all your help! I picked up the Floor unit this morning from the repair shop and it is back to 100%!! My other guitarist has an unused Mustang IV and I was able to upload my saved presets to his amp and run it direct to the PA for the gig last Saturday. No Problems, sounded like my pedal. I now keep his amp in the rehearsal room so I can actually use my sounds for rehearsal and leave the pedal packed in the band van. Thanks again!! Great stuff you guys put out!!!

Hi everyone,

I purchased a Mustang Floor a couple of months ago and love it. But sadly, mine stopped working suddenly with the exact same problem I see here - freezes up and none of the pedals work. I took it to my local tech who says Fender won't return his calls or emails so he's helpless to get parts.

Help - I've already paid his $65 diagnostic fee which will be applied to the repair if the repair can ever happen.

This problem was obviously some defect in the manufacture of these pedals if it has happened to so many people. I hope Fender will help me resolve it - the pedal blows away my Boss GT-10, Line 6 XT Live and everything else I've played.

So sad.

I assume you did a factory restore. In all of my years of buying a ton of Fender guitars, basses, guitar amps, bass amps, accessories, etc. I could always get Fender on the phone and fast. Unless, something has drastically changed recently, your local tech and what he is saying sounds fishy to me. I have seen some really shady techs over the years as well.

Call Fender direct and talk to them about this to get the real story. It could be that parts are not available because it was discontinued and they have no replacement units but you can always get Fender on the phone.

This may be too late, but here goes...

Have the tech clean and reset all the ribbon cables/connectors, especially the one that goes to the top switch board (the one with the tuner/tap temp button).
