I've had it for 6months now. I just raised it off the floor. Better sound and access to controls... WOW.... It's like a new amp. Using the onboard controls/effects iS
easier.
Can't believe how much I can shape the sound now that it's within easy reach while I'm playing. Just adding a little delay , knocking back the gain ... Starting to come together and get some useful sound...

Lovin it...

I've also noticed my Mustang 1 sounds better off the floor. Had it sitting on a chair one day for some reason, and, like you, WOW.

How do you elevate your amp? Stand, table or something else?

Interesting.

I really like and installed Fender's kick back legs on my MIV V2. You can also get amp stands for a modest price at GC and the like, which saves drilling the cabinet, but is one more thing to carry.

I have used a kitchen chair in a pinch.

Right now it's sitting on top of an old amp. Raises it about a foot and a half.
It's also access to the controls that helps. Easier to tweak on the fly and see what I'm doing.

Play'n out with my Mustang 4 and Tele. Thank-goodness the 4 button floor switch has a very long chord..as my amp is sitting directly behind the Bass player :))

You could also use a wedge-shaped door stop under the amp to give it a slant.

In our band we use amp stands for all of the amps. There are several reasons for this, but especially for the Mustang amps. You need to be a few feet away from the Mustangs to get the full effect of what the sound is. When these amps aren't elevated or kicked back, it's very hard to guage your amp's tone and balance with the rest of the band because most of the sound is shooting out below you. This is especially the case on cramped stages. We've also found that many stages are hollow so a lot of sound can get transferred from the amps through the stage and up into the mic stands and cause feedback problems.

We all use the same style of amp stand with are the simple fold up tri-pod style stands you can get at GC or Sam Ash. I wouldn't want to play without them.

musicmatty- You have some sweet gear, guitars and amps!!! :D Thanks for picutres!

All: thank you for the information and sharing your wisdom.

I put my amp on a chair the last few times I practiced. And, yes, I hear what you mean. I tend to sit close to the amp. I picked up a longer cord so Ill set it up across the room and have a go.

I don't think I will attach anything to my amp just yet; I do think protective corners are needed. However, I don't want to void the warrenty just yet. Still to new. Kind of an odd policy that Fender has. You can't do something simple to safeguad the amp.

How about a guitar stand, something like this one?

It should be easy to fabricate one that fits the amp exactly. Also, bevel the support bracket so that the edges are flat when it's opened up.

While you're at it, you could mount accessories onto it, like casters, a small power bar, a gooseneck LED reading light to illuminate the controls, iPod dock/charger, . . . cup holder, coin box.
Use your imagination.
