I'm trying to manage the 100 presets on my Mustang 3. I can see all of them via the Fuse software but I don't know if I can print them. I would like to put them into a spread sheet so I could make remarks beside each one as I use it. Some I like and some I don't. Any short cuts or ideas?

Thanks

Somewhere around here there IS a spreadsheet of all the presets. I'll be darned if I remember where though! I believe it's one Fender made, and includes all the effects used with each.

As for me, I don't.

I just made some basic sounds, and saved them in slots 00, 01, and 02. Occasionally, I'll flip through the others just for something different, but mainly I just use those 3.

I deleted ALL the original presets and set them up with tones I like, then I don't. Accidentally go onto some ridiculous metal-head preset! But I just stick with 10 of my favourite.

I only use about 4 patches so those are the only ones I care about, so its very easy to manage my presets!!

I suppose that if you are in a multi-genre band that plays everything from 40's swing to country to jazz to blues, metal, etc. you could have such a repertoire that actually required 100 unique patches. But I think most of us have just a few favorites. Since I have three strats, a tele, and a Les Paul, I have most of my presets set up to accomodate the sounds I like with my Fender guitars (roughly the first 20) then I have five presets set up specifically for the Les Paul. Beyond the first 25-30 presets, they are as they came from the factory. The ones I use the most are set up from preset #'s 00-04, a clean Twin Reverb, then the same with tremolo turned on, then Twin Reverb with chorus, then a crunchy Bassman, and in 04 I switch between a Supersonic in overdrive and sometimes a Marshall JCM800 overdrive sound. Those first five cover all I need with my church Worship Team. It's been a few years since I played in a Classic Rock & Blues band, but I probably wouldn't have a much different setup if I did. :)

I agree with the other posters in that I use MUCH less than the 100 presets. Like them I have several basic tones that I use for most tunes. but I would add that if there are songs that prove challenging to dial in a great tone or have a more complex tone I will tinker with it until I'm happy and then save it as a preset for that specific song. I also have some presets that are genre based like surf or country. I have my most often used tone in position 00 and the others surrounding it. I also have written over or turned down any loud noisy presets that surround mine to minimize noise if I scroll too far.
Rock on!

Thanks for the remarks guys. I'm trying to find the ones that suit my style but some are useless to me and so many of them are very similar to others. I like the idea of turning down the volume on the ones that I don't use and clustering to ones I do use into groups of similar styles. Now that I ordered the 4 button peddle, I can separate the different styles by blocks of 10. By the way I manually entered all 100 presets into a spreadsheet so I can keep track of which ones I like. Thanks again for the feedback and have a happy holiday season.

When I gig out with my cover band, we do 40 to 45 songs and each song is designated to its own preset. The 3 & 4 models with capabilities of 100 presets is an absolute dream for a guitarist in a cover band.

I have replaced a good number of the default patches. I use maybe 3 or 4 at most. I am still a beginner for what it's worth.

The Mustangs are great amps and it keeps it fun and that's what's most important.]

Me, I get in a big mess - I save far too many tone tweaks and then name them with one letter changed. But of course the next week I have no idea what's what.
100 is too many - 32 might force me to have some discipline!

I start with the Fender Basic amps set, and only use 4 or 5 I've tweaked for harp. My '0' position default setting is a clean Twin with just a hair of gain. 1-4 are Fender Champ, Princeton, Deluxe, and the "Pawnshop" amp (modeled, I think, after an early cheapo Silvertone). I go through them one by one, adjust volume on each to roughly the same level (not by number on the dial, but by ear). The rest of the presets I save at zero volume, to avoid the accidental blast from the ridiculous metal and scream presets. I find I most often only use 1 or 2 amp settings during a gig.

musicmatty, cool of you to share some video, but they're marked as 'private', and unviewable.
