I just lost a long post on this topic due to some error in this fender lounge website so i will go right to my tip. In the utility menu set it to stereo even if you are only using the left mono 1/4" or XLR output, when i did this my mustang floor sounds much better now compared to when i had it set to the mono setting in the utility menu, the high end is much better and i get much better gain now out of the metal 2000 and american 90's amp models and also all the other amp models sound better now!

But won't this cause a "fading" in & out/signal drop if using a stereo effect like chorus or some sort of ping pong delay?

I am not sure but i do not really use the fender floor effects that much except for the effects loop with my behringer TO100 overdrive pedal and it sounds great with the mustang floor,i have my mustang floor going through the send return loop on my boss gt-3 and i use the effects on my gt-3 instead of my mustang floor effects most of the time,i like the reverb's better in my gt-3.

I will have to check out the effects closer in my mustang floor such as the chorus and ping pong delay as you mentioned to see if there is any fading in and out or signal drop.

Why don't you just try the stereo setting out for yourself and let me know if it sounds right to you? Do not forget that i am running my mustang floor's left 1/4" output in(mono),i only changed it to stereo in the utility menu settings!

I can pretty much get the level of gain/distortion I need for the music I play.

My MF is setup in true stereo running XLR's L/R into my Fostex L/R XLR inputs.

I'm pretty happy with how the result of hours of tweaking so I'm not really inclined to mess with it
