Need some fast help guys. I have the Mustang Floor, and I'm doing a gig Saturday that I need to run direct. I am testing some tones right now, and I notice that when I run the xlr direct to PA, it makes my tone very different opposed to my regular sound when I run 1/4 inch out direct to pa?????? I am plugging into left out on each. I prefer to use xlr as its a lot easier to hit the snake this way for open channeling. Am I just missing something simple here?

Now, I normally run my MusFloor 1/4 left out to my Tech 21 Power Engine 60 with Cannabis Rex speaker and then mic it, but even when I run 1/4 inch direct to p.a., my tone is still fairly true. xlr has me all confused. Enlightenment please!

Cheers.

I can not hear any differences from XLR to unbalanced, make sure the equipment your are connecting the XLR into is not creating the difference.

Er... without wanting to sound like a complete dick have you checked the output voice settings (See Page 7 Advanced Manual)? If I remeber when I first got the floor its voice was set to Combo. Direct to the board you might want to try the recommend setting 'PA System'. This adds much more of the simulated speaker voicing and changes the EQ to suit a typical PA speaker. There are some other PA options as well (PA+Bass etc) but will leave you to explore.

I note you have a Tech 21 Power Engine. Interesting; have you considered spliting the outputs so you have left to the PA (Set to PA System) and Right to the PE (Set to Combo)? Hence retaining your normal sound for on stage monitoring and close to mid ground amplification for the audience?

When I first used my floor I did not check the voicing and went straight to the PA with the combo voicing - I did not actually think the sounds was half bad however the specific PA Voices are better IMHO.
