Regarding the cab, does the speaker tone need allot of room or air in the cab to bounce around in to produce a better tone? If someone could explain the concept of how a speaker and cab work together? Thanks kindly..

Speaker cab design is a massive and complex area, far too big for a forum answer. In brief, the speaker cone needs the 'right' amount of air in the cab behind it - which isn't necessarily a massive cab. For hi-fi, cabinets are 'tuned' to the characteristics of the speaker driver and its frequency response, which includes such things as the size and position of any reflex ports. The goal is to allow the speaker to move freely and provide as flat as possible a frequency response. This will be at the expense of absolute volume (quality over quantity).

Guitar speakers and cabinets tend to be more basic in design, and often have open-back cabinets rather than just ports. They're deliberately not flat-frequency or a wide frequency range - it's (usually) more about pushing as much air as possible and providing a sturdy, rugged case for the speaker - as guitar cabs/speakers tend to be moved around a lot more than hi-fi equipment.

If you search the 'net for a phrase like "speaker cabinet design" you'll find lots of articles going into this topic in as much depth as you'd like, including plenty specifically on guitar speaker cabinets.
