Fender, please, for love of Pete!!!
PLEASE!!! PLEASE!!! PLEASE!!! PLEASE!!! PLEASE!!! PLEASE!!!
Give us the ability to use more than one instance of an effect!!!!
It cant be that hard to do!!!
I understand some of the reverbs may use up too much CPU...
But that happens with nearly EVERY OTHER piece of digital gear on the market... Let the user learn to work around it!!
We will figure it out!!!!
THANKS!

... before anyone starts... Yea I know the wah is on there twice!
But of all the bonehead decisions to make... who needs TWO wahs of all things!!!

Okay, that was hyperbole. I know the idea there was to free up a different effect... But the Idea was a good one and just needs to be broadened across the entire platform

again... THANKS!!!

All I ask for is the V2 update that the Mustang amplifiers received. I would definitely make use of the additional amps and effects. I would buy another Floor if it was a "Version 2." I would even pay for a firmware update to bring it to V2 specs, if that option was made available.

Also, a special request for a Uni-Vibe effect under the modulation category. Really miss that one.

ABSO-Friggin-LUTLY!! I would pay for the updates too!
But Fender would rather waste it's time on revamping their website (which as far as I have seen NO ONE has asked for) instead of putting the time and effort into updating their products (Which nearly EVERYONE has asked for!)
Just kidding fender  ...sort of... 8)

Winter NAMM (North American Music Merchant's Convention) in Nashville is just a few weeks away. I am hoping and praying that Fender will bring out a new Floor V2 or a replacement that will knock our socks off even more!! And along with a new Floor, perhaps some more reissues of classic AB763 amps like the 65 Bandmaster head.

Merry Christmas to all!!

My fear is that this type of product (digital floor based modeler with multi-effects) won't be profitable enough for Fender and that they will discontinue it to focus on the Mustang amps, which I believe a greater percentage of the guitar-playing public understand. Most people see a floor unit and assume it goes in-between the guitar and amp, which of course you can do, but that's kind of missing the full potential. Going into a FRFR system or a clean power amp and cabinet is where it's at, IMHO.

Maybe Fender should create a "Mustang Active Monitor" - a box with stereo inputs that's just a power amp and speaker(s) - and looks like a Fender amp. They could sell it alongside the Mustang Floor for people who want both a stand-alone floor-unit and/or an overall modelling/effects/amp solution.

The R&D would be trivial: take a Mustang 3 and 4, rip out everything up to the fx-return sockets (ie take out all the pre-amps, DSP, controls, etc), and sell what's left in the box. Although I suppose for the price of the Mustang 3 and 4, why not just buy one of those and use it as the power-amp for a Mustang Floor?

Oh, I just realised, Tech 21 already make such a box...

Yes, Tech 21 and now Mission Engineering have the Gemini, although that's more of an FRFR monitor that looks like a guitar cab. I'm thinking seriously about the Gemini 1. Seems odd to pair a $200 floorboard with a $1,000 amplifier, but from an investment perspective the Gemini would likely live through several generations of technological upgrades as digital modeling continues to evolve and get better.

I be happy, even if they did not give us the V2 updates, but just give us multiple instances of the stomp and mod categories!
Could then have 2 ODs or A comp and OD together.

We all know the restriction of one-effect-per-category is necessary so as not to overload the DSP. Different manufacturers deal with the finite resources of the DSP hardware in different ways; Fender chose to do it by splitting the effects into categories and only allowing one of each, which I think makes a lot of intuitive sense.

I agree maybe allowing people to have two stomps (and no mod) or two mods (and no stomp) would be a good extension. Another option for Fender would be to combine two effects into a single "multi effect." So for example, have a stomp effect that is a combined compressor and overdrive. This would allow them to optimise the DSP processing of such an effect and enable it to be used without exceeding the DSP capacity.

A few carefully-chosen such "multi effects" would probably cover 99% of people's requirements for additional effects (or additional combinations of effects not currently possible), without requiring Fender to upgrade the DSP hardware. Just a thought/suggestion.

The MF is already dating.

Is Fender willing to keep supporting it?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the input, ideas and concern offered in this thread. Again, the Tech Support Lab does not make decisions regarding updates and other product development issues. However, we are happy to inform the appropriate engineering and other staff about the discussion here. In the meantime, please let us know if we can assist with any issues pertaining to the Fender® Mustang™ Floor and current firmware. Thanks.

Best Regards,

Alan

Thanks for passing along the info, Alan. It seems the two most frequent requests I hear for improvement of the Mustang Floor are the addition of the "V2" amp and effect models, and the ability to use a compressor and overdrive effect at the same time. If the Floor continues to live on in Fender's product line-up I think those two enhancements alone would satisfy a lot of users.

The appeal of the Floor over similar competing products is that it is straight forward and simple to operate. It gives you excellent quality emulations of classic amps and effects, with an emphasis on quality over quantity. The problem comes from the fact that there are so many potential applications for a product like this you will get 1,001 opinions on what it needs to have or should be, such that it will never be all things to all people. It it were to try to become that it would lose the very qualities that make it the preferred choice for many.

A third one that has come up a lot in the past is the ability to position the fx-loop somewhere other than at the start of the signal chain. Ideally it should be configurable to any point in the signal chain; or if it has to be fixed, then moving it to after the amp model and before the 'post' effects would make a lot more sense than its current position. I realise this would require hardware changes to the unit.

I wish they would just fix the MIDI quirks that are left, where the STOMP, MOD, DELAY and REVERB switches send out the inverse value (0=on, 1=off) of the MIDI specification (0=off, 1=on)
