Hi everyone

A couple of months ago I picked up a Fostex MR16 and began fooling around on it.

Thought I'd put a link here to them.

I used the Mustang Floor for all the guitar work on these tracks.
There is no bass. Yet.
"Once upon a time, Vaing4Satch, Redheadbombshell" were recorded on the Fostex but then simply transferred to WMA format by running the audio into my mixer then running the mixer into my laptop via USB where I used Audacity to do a simple one time recording. The original tracks are still on the Fostex where they can be added to and mixed down in the future.

"Home" wasn't recorded on the Fostex but the other ones were.
This track was recorded straight to my laptop using Audacity recording software.
It is composed of 3 tracks. Acoustic guitar, Vocals, and Electric rhythm guitar.

I had a major problem with latency using this above approach and it can probably be heard in the song itself since everything isn't lining up perfectly.
In time I hope to redo this one.

The Fostex was a steal. I paid $150 for it and it is in brand new condition with all the manuals, carrying case, cables, etc.
Better yet, this was what I was waiting for.
NO LATENCY haha.
No "hiss" either.
Also, I run XLR out of the MF into 2 inputs on the Fostex and pan L/R for stereo and record 2 tracks at once.

The guitars I used are as follows:

Home (iirc, Home is tuned down half step)
Ovation Celebrity GC 057
Premier "Strat" copy.
AKG D5 mic for vocals

Once upon a time (Standard tuning)
Premier "Strat" copy for lead & rhythm guitars.

Vaing4Satch (Dropped B tuning)
Schecter Diamond 006 Deluxe for both rhythm & lead guitars.

Red head bombshell (Half step down tuning)
Epiphone Les Paul Traditional Pro for both rhythm & lead guitars.

Let me know if you're interested in any presets of the MF.

wulfGangii,

Wow! I am awesomely impressed with your sound! Reheadbombshell, home, and Once upon a time caught my attention within the first 20 seconds or less! Can you send me the preset you used on those? Much appreciated. Btw, the vocals are unique too! Thanks Mark

Thank You!

I can't wait to pick me up a good Fender Tele.
Those songs where that cheap strat is playing should be the Tele lol.

Wolfgangii,

Thanks for the post and settings. As soon as I can get rid of my MF Hum I will be entering them into my processor. If I may suggest a fender tele, I favor both the 52 reissue and, of coarse, the fender telecaster deluxe models that have 3 single coil pickups. (See my user name - LOL) My deluxe has chrome dome fender lace pickups. Both of these models are made in USA. If finances are a problem, a made in Mexico 69 reissue mahogany thinline is another of my favorites. Good luck and inform us of your guitar purchase.
