I'm trying to set up some interesting patches on my Mustang Floor for stereo output through a P.A.

From the "advanced manual" (as Fender calls it) it's unclear which effects are actually in stereo and how the signal chain is designed in the unit. Obviously all effects placed before the amp will be in mono but even when placed after the amp, the reverbs still appear to be in mono.
Is it only the V2 amps that have stereo reverb? :?

From the signal flow diagram shown in the Fuse GUI, it appears that the signal is going through each of the 3 post amp effects is in series.

AMP --> Effect 1 --> Effect 2 --> Effect 3 --> Output

But the order of the effects doesn't seem to make any difference in the output.
It's as if these effects were in parallel instead of in series as shown in the diagram.

|-------->Effect 1 ------->|
AMP --->Effect 2 ------>Mix--> Output
|-------->Effect 3 ------->|

Anyone else notice this?

The effects chain is definitely serial, not parallel. I agree with some effects there is little difference in signal chain order, with others it's more apparent. If you want an obvious way to test this, place an overdrive and tremolo in the signal chain. With the overdrive first, you'll hear an overdriven signal that varies in amplitude (due to the tremolo). With the tremolo first, you'll hear variation in the amount of overdrive (as the tremolo sends alternating loud and quiet sound into the overdrive) at a more constant volume.

Some of the mod and delay effects are stereo. I think all the stomp effects are mono, and the reverb effects are a special case:

It's wrong to call the reverb either mono or stereo - neither word correctly describes it, and actually conjures up incorrect pictures. This was discussed at length in a previous forum topic, with input from Fender, and I believe the following is a correct summary:

The reverb works separately on the left and right channels (so it preserves any stereo signal - ie differences between the left and right channels - already present). But the reverb doesn't add any stereo-ness (spatial depth, etc) of its own - it acts the same on both channels.

So, if you don't have any other stereo effects in the chain, and your left and right channels are identical, then after adding reverb the left and right channels will still be identical to each other, with exactly the same reverb added to both.

If you do have other stereo effects in the chain, the reverb will be added independently to the two channels. Think of it as taking your two separate stereo outputs (left and right), and connecting each one independently to a mono reverb unit, then taking the output of each reverb unit separately to the left and right inputs of your (stereo) power amps and speakers.

Thanks scott-uk. This is excellent information.

You're right the reverb does seem to be quite special.

I was experementing with a stereo delay with a left-right (ping pong) echo followed by a reverb.
The reverb does allows the stereo signal from the delay to pass through but I didn't notice the left and right echoes from the delay having individual reverb tails panned left and right. The reverb still appears to be in the center whether the delay echoes are comming from the left or the right. :?

Even if you put the reverb before the delay, it still sounds the same to me.
So not really stereo but not mono and not parallel but not always serial. :roll:
