Okay so my fender mustang v v.2 head is running through a line 6 8ohm stereo cabinet. the wattage ratings match up and the ohm ratings match up. Every once in a while mostly when playing on (metal) presets I have created, the sound will cut out momentarily and come back on. sometimes the led screen even blinks. Does anybody know what may be causing this? I've tried many guitars and cables and electrical outlets but it still happens occasionally. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Similar to my reply to your other post: are you 100% certain the left and right channels of your cab are completely electrically separate and isolated from each other?

What happens if you run just one channel to the cab - ie disconnect either the left or right cable. Obviously you'll only get half the sound, but do you still get the occasional cut-outs?

A different possibility, particularly if your head sits atop your cab and you're playing loud/distorted sounds: could the vibration from the cab be affecting any of the connections to the head. Check the power cable is plugged fully and securely into the amp. Try re-siting the amp away from the cab (or at least not on top of it) and see if that changes anything.

Dear chrgarcia55,

Thanks for your inquiry. As you can tell forum member scott-uk has some good suggestions and troubleshooting steps, but please feel free to contact us directly if the problem persist. I'm also enclosing the speaker output we recommend for optimal performance and matching of the Stereo Output of the Mustang V. In the event you're still experiencing the problem maybe this may provide some information you may have missed.

The Mustang V head amplifier provides stereo speaker outputs that must both be connected to a stereo speaker cabinet such as the Mustang V 412, with four 12" Celestion® G12P Rocket 50 speakers (recommended), or two 8Ω speaker cabinets capable of handling 75W each.
