If it's a I or II yes.. must go thru Fuse... MIII and up... can change cabinet emulations right off the amp itself 8)

Howdy:

I am new to guitar playing and amps. I had an old Solid state beginner amp and it was lame.

I chose the III over the I, II, IV and V. Once I looked into the entire line I figured I wanted the "better" on amp controls. The III and up have the screen. I also thought the III sounded better than the I & II. The IV and V where too big for me. I never considered the floor.

In the blues videos sold me the amp. I found his reviews and demos very helpful in the decision processes. Once I had the amp I found his patches a great place to start with improving the tones. I didn't care for the defaults preloaded tones.

You should try to try them out to see if the line of amps is for you and then which one is a right fit.

Let us know how you make out.

Peace

Hi All
Thanks for replies-will def try and get to demo one
Using a Spider Jam at moment, can get some decent tones out of it if I ignore nearly all the presets. Would like to try them side by side to compare as not sure if the Mustang has
better processors etc on board. The things I would miss if I sold the Spider would be the on board drum machine, backing tracks and looper but might have to sacrifice that if Mustang sounds better.

The Mustang is pretty much the best modeler out there these days.

No experience with the spider, but I've had Line 6, Vox, . in those experiences, the Mustang is superior in sounds, and interface.

I have a III and a IV (v1) Been a gigging musician for the better part of my life,
the mustangs can do just about anything you need them to do.

sure beats lugging around an 70 lb tube amp and a 40lb pedal board.

Another question is can you preview the band tracks or do you have to download first

The band tracks can be previewed prior to downloading, however, the presets have to be downloaded to be previewed. Not a problem, tho. My sticky point is web search from fuze, just doesn't happen consistently, but OK thru community. Overall the M111 v2 is a great amp. IMO

Band tracks??
They're only for the GDec range I think - no band track playback on Mustangs!

True, they are mostly for the GDEC amps, you can't load the band tracks onto a Mustang amp. BUT, you can load them into FUSE and play them back (in an infinite loop if you wish) and associate band tracks with presets stored on the computer.
