I have owned my Mustang III V2 since February 2014 and have struggled to replace the included presets with usable clean presets of my own. Now, my Mustang has developed a buzz, crackling sound whenever I strike a lower or bass note on my Fender guitar. Speaker appears to be fine and it seems to come from the amplifier itself. Please, I need this amp for an upcoming concert and its got to be clean. Thanks! :(

Dear damorrow,

Thanks for your inquiry. Sorry to hear you're having issues with your Amp. It's a bit difficult to actually diagnose this type of issue but here are a few things that you can try.

1) Backup you presets, perform a factory reset and create a few of your clean presets and see if the problem persist. If it does then try step 2.

2) Reduce the preset's volume from the Amp, increase the Master volume and then roll back volume of the Guitar.

If you have no luck with the above steps, it may be hardware related, in which case we recommend you take it into an Authorized Service Center. Please contact us directly at e-mail address below for further information. Good Luck and let us know if we can assist you further.

Thanks

Steven

Just a shot in the dark here, but I had something similar going on and it turned out to be a bad pedal I was going through. There was something messed up in the bypass circuit of the pedal so it caused this issue even if it wasn't engaged. I took it out of the signal chain and everything was fine. I don't know if this applies to you or not, but thought it was worth mentioning.

Good point.... Another suggestion... clean ALL contacts (input and output jacks) w/ contact cleaner... make sure cables are in good working order.

In regards to replacing amp presets... It's really pretty straight up to go there. Do you have the advanced guide to the amp? You can do that fairly easily right from the amp itself.

I spent most of the day yesterday trying different presets, re-installing all presets, re-setting volume controls etc. I don't use any gain to maintain as clean a sound as possible so I knew it wasn't that.

Pots and jacks were all cleaned with control cleaner, a different cord was used and all these things failed. I was really getting panicky since I have a concert on November 9th.

Then, later in the afternoon I checked to see if there was a firmware update since I really hadn't updated the firmware since last spring (but never had this problem until a few days ago). In any case I decided to give this a shot. Well, by gory it seems to have cleared up! At least for the time being. So that may be a fix?

This thing is more computer than amplifier. Love it when it works, got lots of power and pretty darn good sound for a solid state amp. Nice speaker makes a big difference.

Thanks everyone.
