I got a Mustang 3 amp and the master volume popped when turning it up. Also, the LCD contrast was dim (comparing it to the replacement amp) even at 100%. On a minor, yet annoying to me, note the speaker baffle cloth wasn't straight. I got a replacement and the volume and screen are good. The case itself is a little rougher as it looks like they lamented over glue or something leaving lumps in spots... and the baffle cloth is still not straight (must be a tough job). Where do you guys draw the line on quality and say "good enough"?

To be honest, I've had my MIV v2 for about a year now and I couldn't tell you if the grill cloth is straight or if there are glue bubbles under the covering. I doubt I've ever inspected it that closely. For myself, if the amp appears presentable and works as it should, I'm a happy guy.

The first one didn't work as it should and the 2nd one does. So, I will go with that and say "good enough". I do like my toys to look pretty too though :D Thanks for the reply.

My experience has been good w/ my MIII... Had it over a year... have been gigging it... no probs w/ performance or build quality.
There's no doubt that items get thru QC sometimes that had no reason to be approved... but it happens.

I have had my Mustang IV just shy of 4 years now and still going strong without any glitches after regular gigging and rehearsing with it. I have added four big wheels on the bottom of it and large hitching rings on either side of it for safe transport and drilling into the material has been no problem. It has held up well very stable and secure. Would I get another one if this one died??...absolutely yes ! it's a shame the one and two models do not have the same Control Panel layout as the 3 & 4 which are much easier to operate by far !

I think fender would do well to discontinue the Mustang 1& 2 and just simply rename the 3 & 4 amps ..as they have the super champ and the champion 20 and 40 amp that are superior to the M 1 & 2 as far as navigation in my opinion.. much more user friendly.
