Hi all,

out of curiosity yesterday I went to a Guitarcenter and spent some time comparing amp tones. Essentially I tried several tube amps and then tried similar presets on a Mustang 4 next to them.

I spent the most time comparing Voxes and Oranges to the Mustang. I think I discovered a pattern but wanted to compare notes with somebody else who tried something similar.

This is what I tried for the Vox AC15 and AC30:
-gain, volume, bass and treble at noon
And on the Orange Tinyterror and some other Orange:
-gain, tone and volume at noon

Then I tried the base presets on the mustang 4, and after putting all knobs at noon, these are the two changes I needed to make to sound it VERY close:
-put BIAS to minimum (-50)
-lower BASS to around 3/10

Anyway, this might be helpful to other guys so I decided to post.
Anybody got similar results? Could this be attributed to the speaker choice on the mustangs? I wonder if the result on a Mustang 3 (just one speaker) would be similar or not...

This also lead me to think that MAYBE the USB/line-out signal is closest to what fender tried to emulate than what's coming out of the speaker (thinner sound)

I've noticed the M4 has a tendency to be a bit more bass than does the M3. Typically I have to tone down the Bass on almost all the models I use on the M4, but not so much on the M3. I don't know if it's due to the dual speakers or the cabinet design in conjunction with the dual speakers. I do know that if I download a patch from the Fuse site that was developed on the M3, I will almost always have to adjust the Bass.

That's exactly what I would expect/count on between the iii and the iv.

Here's some useful info:
