Hello,

I have a few questions for those of you with experience in home recording.

I am not looking to produce fully-finished professional quality stuff - I just want to be able to record good quality demos of my songs that I can send to record labels. I am on a very tight budged - around the $1000 range.

My plan is to use the mustang III for playing and recording guitar. From what I've ready they can be plugged right in via usb and recorded directly to pro tools. Is this correct?

Next on my shopping list is an audio interface and a condenser microphone, and I'm just wondering if any of you have reccomendations in that area.

What else do you think I'll need? I'd like to spring for a bronco amp and midi keyboard but at bare minimum I need guitar and vocals. I just don't want to realize that I've missed important gear that is more necessary.

Thanks guys for your time.

That is lot to answer in a post. A good book on this very subject is Your Ableton Live Studio by Chris Buono. I was able to download from Barnes and Noble, so I assume it is available from Amazon.

The book covers all versions of Ableton Live including Ableton Live Lite that came bundled with your Mustang.

I'm not sure what your use is for the Bronco amp in the list above. I would suggest you allocate some of your budget to a drum plug-in for your DAW to help assist you in putting together your drum tracks. I personally use EZDrummer but there are other good ones out there.
