Sorry, not trying drag this topic through the mud, but just trying to get a clear picture of what best to do when using amp modelers through the M-III.

I think I have the general idea.

1) Turn OFF cab modeling in software.
2) EQ the software to compensate for the Celestion, using a U shape curve boost lows, lower mids and boost highs.
3) Connect the computers Headphone out to the M-III's Aux in (?) to bypass coloring.

So a few questions linger....

1) What's better, connect the computer to the M-III's Aux or FX In? How are they different?

2) Would using an Audio Interface between the computer and M-III make any difference? I believe my MacBook Pro's headphone out is a line level signal already but would utilizing my Presonus Firepod via firewire from my laptop enhance/ clarify the signal before it goes to the M-III?

3) What about using a preset? Either the stock #83 Basic Studio Pre or a user preset to mimic an FRFR amp?

Or...you can choose the simple route and push the amp modeler through an active stage monitor or PA speaker. Quite frankly I find the models available on the Mustang to be more than adequate for any need I have, and I'd rather spend my time actually playing my guitar than chasing after exotic tone setups.

I understand your sentiment and I do appreciate the help.

I actually enjoy the challenge of tone shaping and trying to chase down sounds that are new to me, I find it kind of exciting and it makes playing my guitar that much more enjoyable to me. I've learned much more about sound production in general (and I have allot more to learn) than I would have if I hadn't decided to delve into it and it's been really helpful. It is indeed nice to just plug in and play, which I do sometimes. Strangely enough though, as I experiment with different setups to see how they sound for different songs and genres of music I find myself playing the guitar more now than I ever had before.

Anyhow, I'll keep at it. Thanks again.
