I downloaded fuse onto my mac yesterday, and eagerly plugged in my mustang 1. However the computer made no noise, showed absolutely nothing to indicate the connection of the amp in any way to the computer. At first i assumed it was the cable, so i tried another two, still no sign of connection whatsoever. I then loaded up fuse to see a no amp connected message.

thinking this was related to mac os, i downloaded fuse on my windows pc. plugged amp in, no bleep, no message, nothing. repeated the cable test and got nowhere.

Anybody else experienced this problem? anybody got any solutions? is this a manufacturing fault that the warranty covers?

thanks in advance :)

This reply is about PCs. I can't comment on Macs.

First, just connecting the amp to the PC won't cause a bleep, message, or anything else. So that in itself isn't a problem. (You can only tell if the amp is connected from FUSE or from Device Manager).

Second, if you plugged the amp into the computer before you installed FUSE, then Windows will have tried to install some default drivers which won't work, and which will prevent (sometimes, probably) the proper drivers working when you subsequently do install FUSE.

Follow all the troubleshooting information here: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=87602 to completely de-install everything. Then re-install FUSE first, BEFORE you connect the amp to the PC. The FUSE installation installs all the correct drivers. Once FUSE is fully installed, then connect the amp to the PC and launch FUSE. See if FUSE now recognises the amp.

Thanks, I'll post again on this thread if it doesn't work.

Assuming you've followed all the instructions to de-install and re-install everything in the right order, do you now see the device drivers, in THREE places in Device Manager?
