I can't seem to hear any sound out of my new mustang 1 amp unless I hold down the "exit" button. Same applies for the tuner. See the video below:

Did I actually do some damage to the amp or is there something really obvious that I don't know about it? I perused the manual but couldn't find that I was doing anything wrong.

Looks like it's stuck in tuner mode. Have you tried a factory reset? Power the amp off, then press and hold EXIT while turning the amp on. Keep pressing the EXIT button until it's not light up. Good luck.

Related - is the TUNER button stuck down, maybe caught on the edge of the hole in the panel?

Thanks for your responses.

@pdawg: I've already tried a factory reset (noticed that in the manual). I don't think it's stuck in tuning mode (otherwise I'd see the "hold for tuner" lights on when I picked / plucked various strings, right?) It's more like the exit button isn't functioning properly.

I actually noticed a few days ago the sound would just randomly cut out when playing. Everything seemed fine, then all of a sudden I'd hear some static and then nothing coming out of the amp. (This happened a few times).

The headphone jack and external out (I've got it hooked up to Logic Pro via the usb cable) both seem to work fine, though, so it appears to just be some loose connection.

@scott-uk: Not sure what the tuner button is. I assume you mean the "TAP" button (tap - hold for tuner). None of the buttons seem depressed.

Another (maybe minor) point - I've noticed that in one of the presets the "FTSW" (footswitch) light lights up - not sure why or if it's significant.

Yes.

I'm guessing the FTSW light comes on just because you've selected a preset that is assigned to the footswitch (regardless of whether you actually have a footswitch).

As to your main problem, it's starting to sound like a hardware fault with the amp (a loose connection or somesuch as you say). I'd be inclined to return the amp for exchange.
