Is there a reason the 8 Fender amps that were modeled on the Mustang v2 were chosen over other Fender Amps not modeled?

Are these 8 the most popular, the basis that the other amps were built on or simply "just because" that's what the designers chose to do?

For example why no Vibrolux? Is the Vibrolux really one of the 8 with some feature added on? Or a line in the sand hand to be drawn and the Vibrolux just didn't make the list.

I have the M3 v2. I was looking at the speaker in it, it's a Celestion G12T -100. I went to the celestion web side to see the specs on the speaker. I don't see this speaker listed specifically. There are G12k 100 and G12T hot 100. Could one of these be it?

I am asking out pure personal interest. I am finding the entire amp thing very interesting. The history of the development is as fascinating as the development of the electric guitar.

Any insight is appreciated.

Dear i8chillywilly,

Thanks for your inquiry. One - 12" Celestion® G12T-100 is the Speaker in the Amp. Amp model choices are determined by a panel of engineers, players, consumer feedback. The overall objective is to reach a middle ground and appeal to a mass majority of players of all levels and taste. I hope this helps. Please feel free to contact us if you need further assistance.

Regards,

Thank you for the reply. You did answer my question on the amp models,
but not the speaker. I was looking for the specs on the speaker. I went to Celestion's website and didn't see that model (Celestion G12T -100) there.

No worries. The is purely for my edification.

Peace

The G12T 'Hot 100' is listed HEREwith model #G12T -100, you might have already found your answer.

The Celestion G12T100 is a higher powered, even better sounding version of the famous G12T75. With a massive 100W power rating, this speaker sits perfectly in high-power or hybrid amplifiers. It voices a modern sound with a big bass presence. Fantastic for 212s or 412s or anything high gain. Great for all types of music. 8 ohm , 16 ohm and 4 ohm specials 100 watts.

Specs are listed here: http://celestion.com/product/23/g12t_hot_100/
