Hello. I would like to be able to use only one line out output and get a sum of the stereo L and R signals. Is this possible? I tested this with a stereo "ping-pong" type delay, and when using only the L or the R line out, you can just hear half of the delay; the left OR the right part, respectively. With most other devices with stereo outputs that I've used and tried, using the left (or sometimes right) output only gives a mono sum of the stereo signal, so that you will get for instance both the left and right side of a stereo delay, only in mono. Not so with the Mustang apparently.. Is there any way to fix this (other than re-programming stereo delays or other effects to mono instead..)?

I think you can do this with the Mustang Floor (that is, it can internally mix both channels to a mono signal), but I don't think you can do it with the Mustang combo amps.

Your best option is to take both outputs to an external mixer, combine them there to a mono signal and feed that to whatever other equipment you're using.

OR

If you want a mono output signal, then by definition you don't want any stereo effects - so you wouldn't be using the ping-pong delay, etc, anyway. If your preset only uses mono effects (or configure any stereo effects so that they're acting as mono), then the left and right channels will be identical, and you can just use one channel's output direct into whatever external mono equipment you have.

Ok, I think this is kinda weird, though. When using headphones (which I do a lot at home), you get the effects in stereo, of course, which I like. But when using it live, since the amp has only one 1x12 speaker, what comes out of it, is mono, and both the L and R signal of stereo effects will be mixed together in mono. And this is also what you get when you mic it up in a live situation (which also sound best IMO). But sometimes it's inconvenient to use a mic, so then I would use the line out instead, and some times you may only have one spare channel left for the guitar..

Or you could use something like this on the outputs of the amp to send one signal.

Or if you want a mono line-out from the Mustang 3 V2, use the 'fx send' socket.
