Hi,

I have been looking at potentially buying one of the new V2 heads. I would ideally this in one of two ways. One would be connecting via the line out to a PA for gigs or to my sound card for recording. I would also like to use this for practicing with headphones, but I wasn't sure if this was bad for the amp. I am inclined to think no since there are no tubes, but I wanted to be sure. I know about the floor unit, but I am not interested in it. Although I am not planning to use a cab initially, I want to have the option to add one later, and I just like the concept of the head better.

Thanks in advance for your consideration!

JC

Fender say it's ok to use the head with only one output channel connected. They haven't to my knowledge commented on using the head with neither output connected - but logically this should be ok.

However, for your purpose I think you should reconsider the Mustang Floor for your current purpose and buy the Head "later" when you want to use a cab.

Thanks for reply.

It doesn't look like they have released a V2 of the floorboard yet.
