I'm a new user of a Mustang 1 V.2, and I am finding the Fuse instruction book very insufficient. What I need is a beginner guide.

For example, I figured out how to download a preset from the web and install it on my amp… and I can use the preset while the amp is plugged into my computer using Fuse… but when I unplug the amp to go somewhere, I have no idea where the preset is. Also, although I understand that there are a number of presets that can be saved (99?), when I save the preset to the amp, I am only given an option of A, B or C. I've been numbering my presets (01 02, etc) and saving them all to "C." But I have no idea whether they're overwriting each other, or where they're saved, or how to get to them outside of Fuse.

What I need is a tutorial. Is there something like that on this site?

First download this manual and save it to your computer and/or print out a copy:

http://support.fender.com/manuals/guita ... nglish.pdf

Basically the Mustang I and II V2 have three banks of eight preset memories. They are indicated by the 8 LED's on the top panel. First bank of 8 is amber colored, second bank is green and third bank is red. All are accessible by the rotary knob labeled "Preset" The green and red presets are changeable by tweaking the knobs on the top of the amp and saving the sound you like to one of the green or red Preset "patches," or in computerese, a memory location (You are dealing with an amp that also has a little computer in it.) You get the most programming power by using the Fuse software, by which you can also modify and save to the amber bank of patches.

But to answer your original question, no, there is no single thread set aside for beginners that I'm aware of. There is a "Fuse" thread that is relevant to the Mustang I and II as well as the rest. Your best bet is to read the manual and spend a little more time learning both the amp and the software, then look around both the Mustang and Fuse threads for questions relevant to your needs, read the answers there, and then ask some specific questions like the one you asked to start this thread.

You have an awesome little amp. I have one of them as well as two Mustang III v2's. Just be patient and take your time and I know you will get hooked! Congratulations on your new drug :)

Very good advice. Take a few hours one day with the thing hooked up to FUSE and just play around with the settings. Click on different things and see what they do. It's very hard to screw up your Mustang amp.

Have a look at a thread I started almost 3 years ago when I couldn't find any compiled data on the amps being modeled, so I started one myself. A lot of people have liked the information there. And I made more than one post in that thread, so don't just read the first post.

http://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=75417

When you load a preset onto the amp using FUSE, it's only there temporarily. If you turn the amp off and back on, you lose all that data. You have to first SAVE it to one of your 24 preset locations. You can do that with FUSE or you can do that using the SAVE button on the amp's face. If you use the button on the amp face, you can only save to the RED or GREEN presets. You cannot save to the ORANGE presets.
HOWEVER, if you use FUSE to save to the amp, you can save to ANY of the 24 presets, ORANGE included.

Ooh...someone's posted in my thread. I gotta go read it now.

same person spammed that same post across the entire forum (including the lounge area). Love that thread FFXIhealer, it's one of the best resources in the Mustang forum.

I just noticed how many threads he spammed with that link... and the link has the Big Fuzz as being a Fuzz Face so its not entirely accurate.

FFXIHealer's stuff should be a sticky  very helpful to those just starting out with this product.

Yes that is a good threat. How do we get it to be a stickY?

What was up with that post in every thread? I am new to forums so I don't know all the etiquette but I would venture that wasn't cool.
