My buddy has his basement all set up for us to jam on Thursday nights. I usually use his Marshall half stack tube amp with my ibanez AM93 semi hollow body. Everyone raves about the sound I get.. This time I brought my mustang III and no one was around when I arrived so I slid my amp in beside the Marshall. Halfway through the night I pointed out I had been using my solid state amp, instead, they had not even noticed!!! Volume, tone was all there.
The mustang easily held its own plus it gives me the effects I want for different songs.

Now I have to work, on using the foot switch in the middle of the song. Timing was off. Playing green days Novicaine and I'm trying to go from the clean beginning part to the crunchy power chords and just the act of stepping on the pedal at the right time was throwing my playing off....

Very happy with the mustang III (except for the Broken headphone plug)

Hey Steve,

Good to hear you are doing fun things with your Mustang.

As for the headphone jack, these (virtual) pages sadly document some of Fender's poorer design choices. But, warranty support is excellent. Others have chosen to go rogue and make repairs and even mods. If/when you get it fixed, I'd recommend inserting an extension cable to provide some strain relief. Even better if it has a right-angle plug!

Cheets.
