The other day I saw several demos of this venerable pedal, which incorporates a delay combined with a chorus and a rotary effect. I was impressed enough to go check for the price of the thing and then discovered that it costs more than the Mustang 3 :)

Feeling insulted, I went back to my ol' Mustang 3 to see if I was able to more or less emulate the thing. After some experimentation I discovered the following:

-For the Delay plus chorus/phaser combination of the memory man: The Mustang stereo echo filter is amazing! never tried this effect before but after some experimentation I can make it work very close to a memory man in delay+chorus/phaser mode. Essentially it is a mono delay in series with another effect which takes the echoes from the delay and applies some amount of a wobbling effect to it. If used in stereo is totally amazing through headphones

It has the standard level/feedback/timing but it also has 3 more controls for the chorus/phaser that more or less work as follows:
-in-level: it determines how much of the echo from the delay gets into the "wobbler" effect. Put it to zero and the whole thing sounds like a regular mono delay. Do not over use this or it will sound like crap :)

-resonance: is kind of the depth of the wobbling effect, use mid to low values for best results.

-frequency: it determines if the wobbling effect has a tendency to be more trebbly than the original sound (higher values) or bassier (lower values). Probably a mid value should work in most cases.

-For the Delay plus vibe/rotary combination of the memory man:
-there's no direct on-effect replacement, but you can very successfully replace it by a mono delay followed by a rotary effect. For best results try very low Level values of the rotary effect.

A final tip for delay timing: a lot of people complains because there's no "dotted eight" automatic value for the delay timer. this is an easy enough fix for most situations
-add your favorite flavour of delay to the mustang effects chain
-press tap tempo button a bunch of times in sync with the music beat
-long-press the delay button on the mustang (3-4-5) to go into delay config mode
-reduce whatever timing value you have in there (set by the tap tempo procedure) by 25%. Example, if it says 400 msec, change it to 300 msec
-you are ready to play your favourite U2 song :)
