Hey guys, my experimentation continues!!!
For my fly gigs, I want to take just my MusFloor and my Guit. So, I own a presonus tube pre V2, and I was wondering if anyone has tried this or something like it in conjunction to their Mustang Floor pedal or similar? I want to add some warmth to my Modeler Tone when I travel, and the Presonus Tube-Pre is tiny and feather light. I want to add this to my chain.

My other question is in regards to what Ive read on other forums about Tube Pre's and Modelers. So many folks seem to put the Tube-Pre in Front of their modeler? In my opinion, or maybe I'm just dense to some info somewhere, but wont the signal just become a digital tone once again? Im thinking the Tube-Pre might better serve to go between the Musfloor and the P.A for Tube flow? AM I completely missing the chain here?

Please enlighten me to the Holy Flow so I can rock with proper perspective!

Have a Fantastic Day all! :D

I use a tube preamp box with my M2. Actually, it is a kit...but it works fine. Very fine, actually.

I leave it online at nominal gain just to fatten up the signal a bit, and dial up the gain when it needs to be more crunchy. Digitizing the signal isn't a problem. As long as the input to the Mustang is below about 1.2V, you should not overload its input.

As for your second question, input sensitivity may also be an issue as the tube preamp could make the signal more dynamic than the line out from the Floor and you could overload the board's input - but at least there is a meter so you'll know when it happens. You may need to do some experimenting to find the right settings for either location.

Cheers.

Hey guys, posted a soundclip of my current rig tone. One of them at least. Its just a raw room recording. Chain is as follows

Guitar > Presonus Tube-Pre V2 > Fender Mustang Floor > Tech 21 Power Engine 60 with speaker changed to Eminence Cannabis Rex.

Sound recorded is the room sound against a backing track on my ipad. So, don't expect Studio Quality. Please give me your thoughts on nuance, tone, and ideas to better the sound. Im calling this Project Team-Tone. In my Opinion, the Tube Pre makes a huge difference in the preset!

P.S. The playing is raw and thrown together, so forgive the garbles, jumbles, etc....
