Hey folks, wanted to share a good live performance tip with the Mustang III amps.
Th amp models sound great and it's much easier to dial in consistent settings that don't need to be tweaked different for every room you play.

I've found that the the tone's a lot tighter and warmer... Using the Metal 2000.... Metal 90's.... Twin Reverb.... '57 Princeton.... all sound better without a cab model selected.. just turn that off for each seperate preset. The stomps I use respond great for lead boost and extra cream on solos(overdrive...ducking delay etc...)

Any one else find an improvement in tone and volume/level consistencies by turning off the cab emulations when gigging your MIII's or MIV's?

Beam in a post on the thread.
Rock On'

Makes sense I guess. Why emulate a cabinet when you are already a cabinet!

Exactly. The Celestion speaker kicks $@!... nice open back 1X12 combo. Sounds fantastic.
For recoeding purposes... it's great to have the cab sims but... for live use, this amp sounds best using it as the amp it is.
All of the qualities of the amp models come thru great.

Hi Strat-Sliinger,

Was just wondering today what the 4x12 V-G-M Cabs were meant to
emulate, when I saw your thread on the subject of Cabs or not.
Seems like a good idea, to open out the various Amp models, by turning
off the Cab module . Goin' to try it out for my next live gig.

OK I had to return to this thread to say .... yes I was 100% happier with the sound of the amp at gig volumes when I turned off all cabinet emulation for my presets. It just sounds like a 112 Celestion cabinet, which sounds great to me. It always seemed like something wasn't quite right when using it live, and this appears to be it. Thanks so much for this tip! :D
